Luis Suarez is set to become a Liverpool player in the coming hours once the paperwork involved has been completed, Kenny Dalglish has revealed.The manager started his pre-Stoke press conference with a statement about potential transfers on deadline day.
Regarding Suarez, he said: "We'll be able to tell you more once the paperwork is completed and also once he gets his work permit, which will hopefully be today. It should be a formality. It's not a financial discussion, it's just clerical.
"I think he is a top player. He is a fantastic goalscorer. He's a good leader and he was captain of Ajax, which is unusual for a forward to be captain. That tells us something really positive about the lad.
"He will come here and we'll try and get him playing the way he played at Ajax. If he got 35 goals at Ajax, surely he has a chance of scoring some goals here as well."
Meanwhile, Dalglish explained how the club had nothing to add to a statement issued on this website on Friday that Fernando Torres had submitted a written transfer request which was rejected by the club.
He said: "With regards to Fernando, it's the same as what the club statement was two or three days ago. We will stick to that and we won't be adding to that....................Read all on LFC.TV
